Remy 'Thirteen' Hadley didn't have much of a child hood. Her mother was sick, dying of Huntington's disease which made for what seemed at the time, a hellish childhood. Remy didn't understand that the disease ravaged her mother's ability to function properly and hated her. She even declined to say goodbye to her before her death. But, the experience did inspire her to pursue a career in medicine

Specializing in internal medicine, Dr. Hadley was eager to earn a spot on Dr. Greg House's diagnostic team. After jumping through hoops and being whittled down from a group of 40 to a group of four, Thirteen was fired. However, after House's boss exclaimed that he couldn't hire two men, Thirteen was re-hired and joined the team.

Thirteen has more than proven herself as a doctor, but she is a very secretive woman. For weeks, no one knew her last name, and it was months before anyone knew her first name. She was simply known as 'Thirteen' because of her number during the Survivor-like hiring process House put all of his applicants through. Her bisexuality was discovered through prodding by House, as was her own diagnosis: Just like her mother, Remy Hadley has been diagnosed with Huntington's Disease. She's expected to live another eight to ten years before she succumbs to her disease.
